Tuna for a Change of Taste. The Yellowfin Tuna we offer is a pleasant change of pace for our Alaskan palates. Tuna is normally caught in more temperate or tropical waters of the Pacific. Our global fishing village connections allow us to bring you mild, firm Yellowfin Tuna as fresh tasting as that you'd savor on a tropical island. Best of all, a 3.5-ounce serving has less than one gram of fat.
Our Yellowfin Tuna (also known as Ahi or Shibi) is superior in quality. While many want red colored tuna, we prefer ours all natural by not gas treated for the color effect. This firm, natural reddish-brown fish turns a creamy ivory color when cooked and the mild, delicate flavor lends itself to a myriad of recipes. Broiled, baked, sautéed or grilled, it will delight you. Afficionados of Cajun cooking call it one of the finest fishes for "blackening".
I really like that these aren't gassed like many other tuna that turns them bright red. I don't see why some places do that, I would much rather have the tuna just natural like this. They are great, and I love them pan seared on high heat and rare in the middle.
